ACADEMIC SUMMER AT PALAZZI 2012
Palazzi offers a variety of Summer programs to suit a variety of programs that allow students flexibility in time commitment, while still choosing a stimulating curriculum that allows them to discover exciting destinations throughout Italy.

Students can choose from our regular summer sessions, from periods as short as one week for to up to a full twelve week summer semester. Our special summer session include programs in the Italian Rivera and the Tuscan countryside, as well as in Rome and Sicily, to give students the opportunity to deepen their experience through first-hand research. Special Summer programs include:
Cultural Introduction to Italy: 1 week, 1 credit academic sessions that take place in Rome and Tuscany. Students learn through travel and research on-location in destinations unique for their local cultures, economies, histories, and societies. Lectures, visits to historic and contemporary sites, tastes of local gastronomy, expanded cultural horizons, and contact with local culture will directly strengthen and challenge perspectives of Italy.
3 week course on Ancient Civilizations: This 6 credit program traces the development of Greek, Etruscan and Roman civilizations with the objective of exploring how their distinct cultures have shaped and continue to affect Italy today. Combines lectures, visits, and onsite research in the locations of Rome, Sicily, and Tuscany.
4 week Photography course on the Light of Florence and Tuscany: This 6 credit program is designed to explore the unique light and its effect on the architecture and landscapes of Tuscany. Combines one week of on-site shooting in Tuscany and 3 weeks of photography coursework in Florence.
5 week Publishing Program: This 12 credit program is a brief, intense foray into the world of travel books and publishing. Students will conduct two weeks of research on location in special destinations across the eastern coast of Sicily to subsequently complete production of a travel book during three weeks of classes at the Florence campuses, to produce a professional book to be published by Palazzi University Press Ingorda for Florence Campus Publishing.
9 Week Restaurant Industry Apprenticeship Program: The Florence experience is a unique opportunity that is open only to a limited number of students who already possess a professional and advanced educational training in the culinary field.
